Curved text, rotation & shadow

Three effects make the preview sit naturally on real products — a curve for round objects, rotation for slanted surfaces, and a subtle shadow that reads as engraving rather than printing.

Set a curve value from −100 to +100 per zone:

  • positive values arc the text upward (smile) — right for the top of a round pendant or the rim of a glass;
  • negative values arc it downward (frown) — right for the bottom edge;
  • 0 renders straight text with the standard fitting algorithm.

Curved text is rendered as SVG along a path, with fitting adapted to the arc length. The admin editor and the storefront share the same curve module, so what you set is what customers see.

Each zone can be rotated up to ±45° — for text following a diagonal strap, a tilted label or an angled engraving plate. Rotation applies to the whole zone; alignment and fitting work inside the rotated rectangle.

The optional shadow effect adds a fine inset-style shadow to the preview text, which makes light-on-dark or tone-on-tone engravings read as carved rather than painted. It’s a per-zone toggle.
